Finding Resources

Key points

  • Check the Torrens Library Catalogue first to find resources for your subject
  • Link Google Scholar to the Torrens Library
  • Not all resources you find outside of Torrens Library will be available to purchase - consult with your Head Librarian
Our collection

The first place to search for resources to include in a reading list is through the Library catalogue. This allows you to see if a resource is already held in our collection, or to view the details of an item you know we have.

The introductory video below explains:

- Searching in the Torrens Library catalogue

- Torrens academic databases

- Subject Guides

- Referencing tool

The video below shows the steps to link Google Scholar to Torrens Library, so you can quickly find articles in our library's collection when searching Google Scholar.

The Document Delivery service supports students and staff in courses currently taught, and is not for use in the development of new subjects.

Please contact your relevant Head Librarian if you require assistance finding resources for your subject.

Not all resources you find online, outside of the Torrens University Library, can be purchased for our collection. The library uses certain suppliers which meet our requirements for:

  • Institutional-wide access for multiple users (digital resources)

  • Invoicing that aligns with Torrens financial protocols

  • Copyright considerations for Educational Institutes

We understand this can be confusing and invite you to make an appointment with your Head Librarian to cross-check your resources.
