We aim to provide relevant services and support to ensure students and staff with any alternative access needs have equitable access to Library resources.

 

Accessible formats in the library collection

Many databases have built-in accessibility features.

Some eBooks and full text articles are available in HTML or EPUB format, which allow the user to enlarge and reflow the text. Text to audio options may also be available.

Assistive software

Read&Write software and Microsoft Office 365 accessibility features can assist students with reading and writing.

Read&Write

Read&Write is a literacy support tool that offers help with everyday tasks like reading text out loud, understanding unfamiliar words, researching assignments and proofing written work.

Follow the guides below to help you install Read&Write - use your Torrens student email address and password when asked to log in:

Note: For eBook platforms, such as ProQuest eBook Central, you may need to turn "Text Only" mode on for better compatibility with Read&Write.

Microsoft Office 365 accessibility tools
