If you’re having trouble opening databases, e‑books, or articles, work through the quick checks below. For help specifically with finding articles and full text, see Articles Access Tips & Tricks: For information on common issues and how to solve them.
VPN
Using a VPN is usually fine, but frequent location (server) changes can interrupt authentication and block access.
- Keep the VPN in one location while using Library resources, or disconnect it.
- Then access resources via Library Search or the Databases list.
Browser & device
Old cached data or outdated browsers commonly cause errors.
- Clear cache/cookies using the guide for your browser:
- Update your browser to the latest version.
- Try a different browser, or an incognito/private window, learn more about incognito mode.
- Restart your device if it hasn’t been shut down recently.
Start from Library entry points
To ensure your Torrens login is recognised, begin from Library pages rather than Google.
If you find an article via Google and see a paywall, try the title again in Library Search.
