Guidelines
-A citation for computer software, and mobile apps is only necessary if you have paraphrased or quoted content from it. If it is a common software that has been used as part of your assessment, e.g. Microsoft Word, then a citation is not required.
- Italicise the name of software in the reference list entry.
- the date of a computer software reference is the year of publication of the version used.
- In parentheses immediately after the title, identify the version number, if any, eg. (Version 2)
- In square brackets immediately after the title and version number identify the format, eg. [Computer software]
- If the software is available online, provide the URL rather than the publisher name and location.

Apps
Guidelines
-A citation for computer software, and mobile apps is only necessary if you have paraphrased or quoted content from it. If it is a common software that has been used as part of your assessment, e.g. Microsoft Word, then a citation is not required.
- For commonly used mobile apps, simply give the proper name of the app along with the version number in the text, if relevant.
- If an individual has proprietary rights to the app, name them as the author
- In parentheses immediately after the title identify the version number, if any, eg. (Version 2)
- In square brackets immediately after the title and version number identify the format, eg. [Mobile app]
- If the software has been downloaded through an app store then provide the precise URL.

Apparatus or equipment
Guidelines
- If the apparatus or equipment comes with software, list both in the description.
- If the apparatus or equipment has a model number that is not included in the title, include the number after the title in parentheses.
-If the company name/creator is the same as the publisher, the omit the publisher section in the full reference list entry.
