Canon 550D Setup Guide
Introduction
The Canon 550D is a beginner-level crop sensor DSLR camera with an 18MP sensor resolution. The following instructions assume the camera is in manual mode (M, Av, Tv, or P on the mode dial).

Focusing Points
- Press the Plus magnifier button (top right corner) to access the focus points menu.
- Rotate the front dial until Automatic Selection is shown.
White Balance
- Press the WB button (up arrow).
- Select AWB (Auto White Balance).
ISO
- Press the ISO button (in front of the mode dial).
- Select Auto.
Image Quality (RAW & JPEG)
- Press the MENU button.
- Select the Shoot 1 tab.
- Select Image Quality then press SET.
- Use the arrow keys to select RAW + L.
Aperture
- While in Aperture mode, turn the front dial to change the aperture.
- While in Manual mode, hold down the Av +/− button on the back of the camera while turning the front dial to change the aperture.
Autofocus Modes
- Press the AF button (right arrow key).
- Select One Shot.
- For subjects in motion, select AI SERVO instead.
Drive Modes
- Press the Drive Mode button (left arrow key).
- Select Single Shooting.
- For subjects in motion, select Continuous Shooting.
Format Card
- Press the MENU button.
- Select the Setup 1 tab (Yellow Wrench).
- Select Format then press SET.
- Select OK to confirm.
