Introduction

The SpaceMouse is a 6DOF (Degrees of Freedom) controller that allows for zooming, panning, and rotating in a single smooth motion. It is useful for intuitively navigating any 3D virtual workspace, enhancing your workflow in CAD and 3D modeling software.

Setup

  • Mount the SpaceMouse on a flat surface.
  • Connect the SpaceMouse to your computer via USB.
  • Install the 3DxWare driver software for full functionality.
  • Ensure proper calibration for your workflow needs.

Zooming

  • Pull the control dial towards you to zoom out.
  • Push the control dial away to zoom in.

Panning

  • Pull up on the control dial to pan upwards.
  • Push down to pan downwards.
  • Push left/right to pan left or right.

Rotating

  • Twist the control dial clockwise to rotate the view right.
  • Twist counterclockwise to rotate the view left.

Quick Buttons - Top

The number buttons on the top correspond to quick links shown on the LCD display. These links automatically adjust based on the active application on your computer.

Quick Buttons - Right Side

The right-side buttons control 3D specific functions such as preset viewpoints, rotation lock, and fit to screen.

Quick Buttons - Left Side

The left-side buttons offer common keyboard functions such as Ctrl, Alt, Tab, and Shift for easy accessibility.

Calibration

You can adjust the speed and direction of each axis separately for precise control:

  • Open 3DConnexion Home.
  • Select Settings.
  • Select Advanced Settings.
  • Adjust sliders to calibrate speed for each axis as needed.

Software
