Nikon Z6 Mirrorless – Video Setup Guide

Introduction

The Nikon Z6 is the company's midrange full-frame mirrorless camera. It features a 24.5MP BSI-CMOS sensor, a hybrid AF system with 273 points and 90% coverage, and 5-axis in-body image stabilization. The rugged body design is similar to the D750/D850 DSLRs and is fully sealed against dust and moisture. It uses a single XQD card slot.

WB Colour Temp

  • Select MENU.
  • Select the Movie shooting mode.
  • Select White balance and choose your preferred colour temperature.

Video Resolution

  • Move the Display switch from photo to movie mode.
  • Select MENU.
  • Select the Movie shooting mode.
  • Select Frame size/frame rate.
  • Choose your preferred shooting resolution.

ISO Sensitivity

  • Select MENU.
  • Select the Movie shooting mode.
  • Select ISO sensitivity settings.
  • Set maximum sensitivity and choose options for Auto ISO control and ISO sensitivity.

Mic Levels

  • Select MENU.
  • Select the Movie shooting mode.
  • Select Microphone sensitivity and choose between Auto or Manual.
  • Monitor the meter located at the bottom of the menu.

Focus Mode

  • Select MENU.
  • Select the Movie shooting mode.
  • Select Focus mode and choose between AF-S (Single AF), AF-C (Continuous AF), AF-F (Full-time AF), or MF (Manual Focus).

Frame Rate

  • Move the Display switch from photo to movie mode.
  • Select MENU.
  • Select the Movie shooting mode.
  • Select Frame size/frame rate.
  • Choose your preferred shooting frame rate.

Format Memory

  • Select MENU.
  • Select the Spanner tab.
  • Select Format memory card and press YES to confirm.

File Type

  • Select MENU.
  • Select the Movie shooting mode.
  • Select Movie file type and choose between MOV and MP4.
