Sony A7R IV Setup Guide
Introduction
The Sony A7R IV is a mirrorless camera body designed for high megapixel still shooting, such as for commercial or fashion photography. It has a 61.0MP full-frame sensor and a flash sync port. The following assumes the camera is in manual shooting mode P, A, S, or M.

White Balance
- Press the MENU button.
- Select Camera 1 tab, then Color/WB/Img.Processing menu Page 12/15.
- Select White Balance -> AWB and confirm.
ISO
- Press the ISO button right directional pad.
- Select Auto.
- Set min to 100 and max to 12800.
Image Quality
- Press the MENU button.
- Select Camera 1 tab, then Quality/Image Size 1 menu Page 1/15.
- Select File Format -> RAW & JPEG and confirm.
- Select JPEG Quality -> Extra Fine and confirm.
- Select RAW File Type -> Uncompressed and confirm.
Aperture
- Set the mode dial to A to select aperture priority mode.
- Use the front dial to select the desired aperture.
Metering
- Press the MENU button.
- Navigate to the Camera 1, then Exposure1 Page 9/15.
- Select Metering Mode -> Multi.
- Alternatively, select Spot: Standard to prioritize the center region.
Focus
- Press the MENU button.
- Navigate to the Camera 1, then AF1 Page 5/15.
- Select Focus Area -> Wide.
- Select Focus Mode -> Single Shot AF.
Format Card
- Press the MENU button.
- Select Briefcase tab, then Setup 5 menu Page 5/7.
- Select Format.
- Select the slot.
- Select Enter to confirm.
Exposure Comp
- Unlock the exposure compensation dial right-most top dial by releasing the center lock.
- Adjust the value next to the indicator to the number of stops of compensation desired.
- This value modifies the target exposure for the automated settings.
