Nikon Z6 Setup Guide

Introduction

The Nikon Z6 is a midrange full-frame mirrorless camera. It features a 24.5MP BSI-CMOS sensor, a hybrid AF system with 273 points and 90% coverage, and 5-axis in-body image stabilization.

Focusing Modes

  • Select MENU.
  • Turn the dial to select Photo shooting mode.
  • Turn the dial to select Focus mode.
  • Choose between AF-S, AF-C, and MF.

ISO Auto

  • Select the Command dial and rotate while holding the ISO button.
  • For high settings, press MENU, scroll to the photo shooting menu, and select High ISO NR.

Shutter Speed

  • Rotate the Command dial (right for faster, left for slower).
  • You can view these changes on the top screen.

Image Quality (RAW & JPEG)

  • Press MENU.
  • Select the Photo shooting menu tab.
  • Turn the dial to select Image Quality.
  • Select the desired type (JPEG/RAW) of image quality.

Mode Dial (Aperture Priority)

  • Set the Mode Dial to AV.
  • Press the Lock release button.
  • Turn the Mode Dial to your desired setting.

Metering Modes

  • Select MENU.
  • Turn the dial to select Photo shooting mode.
  • Turn the dial to select Metering.
  • Select your desired metering mode.

AF Area

  • Select MENU.
  • Turn the dial to select Photo shooting mode.
  • Turn the dial to select AF area.
  • Choose between Pinpoint, Single Point, Wide Area AF(S), Wide Area AF(L), and Auto-Area AF.

Format Card

  • Press the MENU button.
  • Select the Spanner tab.
  • Select Format memory card then press YES.
